Day 17 -- Monticello (7/9/09)

Hello followers of the sacred blog (not to offend religious people by using the word “sacred”)! Lindsey is writing. So today was day 17 for everyone else except for G-Dawg and I (it’s day 3 for us), and we went Monticello, VA, the home of Thomas Jefferson (who wrote the Declaration of Independence) and we visited our Uncle Kris. We met up with Uncle Kris in Charlottesville, VA where he lives. He showed us around town, specifically the University of Virginia and the local downtown mall there. We walked along the pedestrian mall for a while and Uncle Kris bought us each a really cool (and of course delicious) cupcake. At Monticello we discovered Thomas Jefferson was the Minister to France, as well as our president. He was very smart and inventive. The house was beautiful. We also learned a VERY entertaining game called Nine Men’s Morris. (I would recommend it to anyone old enough to understand it.) We had a really great day and we miss you all. Ciao, Bella!!!!
