Day 2 -- Sutter's Fort/Mill & Coloma

Today we spent time in california. We started our adventure at Sutter’s fort. Adam knew a lot about it and helped grandpa tell us all about it. We also visited the Indian museum and spent time there and did a nice scavenger hunt. The day was long and hot but luckily we had AC unlike the pioneers. After visiting Sutter’s fort we went to see where the first gold in California was discovered(Sutter’s Mill). While we were at Sutter’s mill we saw people unloading a antique wagon that was one of kind from 1852 that traveled to Coloma from the east. we got a nice private tour of the wagon and learned the history behind it. After driving for about thirty minutes grandma and grandpa convinced us that we were going to one more place and then we could have dinner and that’s exactly what happened. Meagan really wanted IN-N-OUT and we all got to eat there for dinner. We are spending the night at Sharla's and Dave's(not according to the plan, but you know the griffiths way) we are off bright and early tomorrow morning and headed for Navada and Utah.

  2. Good looking group off to a great start! Nice writing Meagan, and I agree with you. . . if you're going to be doing dinner in California. . .go In-N-Out!! The one redeeming part of the Sutter's Mill heat is to pan for gold in the cold river :). . .
